5th Grade Last Day of School!! Friday, May 27
We have a very special final day of Elementary School planned for our Lincon 5th Graders!! Students and teachers will start their day at the new Lincoln Building to be the first group of students to tour the new space! After the tour, ALL students will ride buses from Lincoln to Bryan at 9:00am. Please see this google form for all of the details. We need each family to complete this form to serve as a permission slip for each child to attend. If your child will not be here on the last day of school, we also need you to complete the form to indicate that. **We are asking that no student ride a bike to school on this day.
At 11:30 am on the same day, All parents are invited to attend our 5th grade promotion ceremony at Bryan Middle School. The ceremony will take place from 11:30-12:30 and then all will go into the cafeteria/courtyard for a small treat, and pictures with friends. Parents will be able to take students home after pictures. **The regular bus will be available for students needing to ride it home.

Updated Health Information
As expected, in the recent weeks, we have seen an increase in the number of students and staff members who have tested positive for COVID-19. We have also seen a higher than typical number of cases of the flu, strep throat, and other illnesses. Given the changing nature of the guidance, we wanted to make sure that all of our families had accurate information about how we handle situations across the District:
- Please send your student to school when they are healthy.
Whether it's COVID, the flu, or spring allergies, unwell students should not come to school. If your child exhibits any symptoms of COVID, we strongly encourage you to get your child tested. The District has onsite testing available at our Bridges Transition Center (appointments available through the school nurse) and there are a variety of community resources available. Additionally, many of our families have home testing options available.
Your child’s physician is always a great resource if you have questions or concerns.
- If your child has been a close contact for a COVID positive person you should monitor your child for symptoms of COVID.
Current symptoms include: Fever of 100.4 or greater, cough, sore throat, runny nose, fatigue, new headache, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, muscle or body aches. If your child develops any of these symptoms, please consider getting them tested for COVID.
- If your student has tested positive for COVID you should:
- Monitor others in your home for symptoms.
- Contact the school nurse so that she can connect your child with instruction during your child’s absence and develop a plan for returning your child to school.
Our goal is to ensure that every healthy student is able to come to school every day. Together, we can ensure that we meet this goal and end the year strong.
