Outdoor Education
Our outdoor education experience was incredible! All of the students seemed to love the outdoor learning environment and engaging topics. Learning included how we can keep our freshwater clean, how to orient a compass in nature, how to use our senses in nature, how to work as a team to solve a problem, and so much more! The Loredo Taft staff was incredibly helpful and supportive to all students. I hope you have heard all about it from your child, I was so happy to be able to share the experience with them!

5th-6th Grade Transition
We are excited to welcome our incoming 6th grade families to Bryan this Thursday, April 21st at 6:00 in the auditorium. During this time, parents will hear from our administrative team, our 6th grade team leaders, and our 6th grade counselor. Parents will have the opportunity to pop into some 6th grade classrooms in addition to purchasing a Bryan PE uniform. We are ready to welcome you to our Bryan family and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Parent Tip

Kindness Month
The City’s Commission on Youth has created a month’s worth of kindness for families to do throughout April. Some of the acts of kindness are super simple and some are more involved, but all are intended to make kindness a habit in your community, classroom and home.

Before you start, print out this flyer and talk as a family about what you plan to do for each item. Talk about what being kind means and why it’s important. Planning the month should be fun. No one says you have to go in order. You can hang up the list and simply mark them off as you complete each act of kindness.

Kindness itself is very motivating and the true reward is the feeling you get from completing a kind act, but as an added incentive, the City’s Commission on Youth will award thirty $10 Elmhurst City Center gift cards randomly among all entries received. No later than Monday, May 9th, please email your completed list to Commissioner Anne Zimmer at We encourage you to submit pictures from your family's month of kindness too! For more information and resources, visit
