National Geographic Giant Traveling Map of Asia
Lincoln families are invited to see The National Geographic Giant Traveling Map of Asia on Saturday, January 28th at 10:00am.
Edison Elementary School
246 Fair
Elmhurst, Illinois
The Map offers students wide and varied Explorations across the continent, an expanse encompassing almost thirty percent of the Earth’s total land mass. They may brave Arctic tundra, walk the Gobi Desert, and visit the highest and lowest places on Earth. Or they may explore the amazing diversity of human cultures found in Asia’s 47 countries. Whether it’s the birthplace of civilization, nomadic peoples, rainforest tribes, or the world’s fastest growing economies, there is much to explore and learn about on this giant map. The map is 26’ x 33’ and comes with a trunk of rich activities, games, props and educational resources.
We are inviting your students to come and explore Asia. They will have the opportunity to explore the continent using educationally powerful and fun activities.
See the Asia Map document for full details.

1 School
4 Intersections - all very busy
600+ Students - arriving and departing at the same time
20 Fifth Graders - trying to safely cross the children
40 Parent Patrol Shifts - each week for 15 minutes a day to help the children
*27* Corners - per week have NO PARENT PATROL.
Please consider volunteering!
What does this mean to you? This means that a crew of 10 and 11 year old children is out there alone at our busy corners every single day trying to help your child cross our incredibly busy streets safely without the guidance and assistance of an adult.
We’d like more children to walk to school to minimize the traffic congestion, but we’d also like more parents to step up and volunteer to work a single 15 minute shift each week to help children cross the street.
Have we got your attention?? If you’d like to find out more information about how you can help with Parent Patrol, please CLICK HERE .
